Bringing expertise in successful commercialisation and scaling of medical technology innovation to local and international markets, Philip Nowell is an experienced CEO, Clinical Marketing Strategist and Industry Advisor.
Having started his working life building a successful clinical practice, this experience combined with the education that went before, has been foundational in developing Philip’s commitment to, and understanding of, a surgeon’s great quandary – how to improve what we do for our patients.
Moving into the commercial side of the industry, Philip honed his extensive business experience through J&J’s Ethicon Endo-Surgery – a leader in laparoscopic and minimally invasive surgery instrumentation – built a major national pathology business, recovered a medical centre group, scaled up Cook Medical’s aortic device business into a top global market position and played a lead role in developing the strategy that resulted in the Ascyrus Medical sale to CryoLife Inc in 2020 for a total of US$200M.
His focus is now on bringing commercial discipline to the creative pursuit of innovation.
Philip’s broad qualifications extend across Dental/Oral Surgery and Medicine, an MBA and the AICD’s Company Directors Course.
